Where it all Began...
On August 29th, 2005 our lives changed forever with the birth of our son Jack Thomas. I knew then that everything would be better and at the same time, very different. However, I didn't realize that going back to work and leaving my son after 2 months would be so hard. Well, I was able to stay home for 15 months and then headed back to work as a Sales Executive with the same company that had employed me for the last 7 years.
From the minute I got back to work I knew that I had to find a way to stay home with my son. I also knew that financially, I needed to have some sort of "plan" to sustain our financial responsibilities.
So I did what every mother would do, put on my thinking cap. I knew I had to come up with something to do that I would enjoy and that I could do around my son.
Purchasing the Business
Well, I love to plan parties, I love themes and I love celebrations. When my son was born, I even matched his birth announcements to the mural we had painted on his wall. I did this with every event that came up, his 1st birthday, Christmas, etc. I wanted to make every event as special as I could.
For all my invitations and stationery needs, I worked with a wonderful women out of Atlanta. I loved her. She was personable, responsive and after a few years, she became my friend as well.
So when I called- as I normally do, to order my Christmas cards, she told me the business was for sale and presented the opportunity to me to purchase it. I couldn't believe my ears!!!. This was the answer I was looking for! In my eyes, it was a tiny miracle. After very little deliberation, we purchased the business from her.
I couldn't be happier, I get to stay home with my son and run a business that is exciting and rewarding all at once. My husband converted our unfinished basement into a thousand square foot studio with all of the latest printing equipment. He also manages the finances of the business and the marketing aspects- a natural CFO.
And with pleasure, I do everything else.
Please don't ever hesitate to call me personally if you have any questions. This company means everything to my family and me. We welcome you with open arms to our site and hope you visit us often.
With warmest regards,
Margaret, Scott, & Jack Mahoney
